1. Click "Desktop" on the Start screen.
2. When the desktop appears, right-click the Start button.
3. Click "Control Panel" in the menu that appears.
4. When the Control Panel screen appears, click System and Security.
5. When the "System and Security" screen appears, click "Power Options."
6. When the "Power Options" screen appears, click "Choose what the power buttons does."
7. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
8. Under "Shutdown settings," check "Hibernate" and click the "Save changes" button.
9. When you return to the "Power Options" screen, click the "Close" button.
